Mortehoe Scarecrow Festival – 6th & 7th August

The Mortehoe Scarecrow Festival has been very popular over the years, but sadly last year there weren’t enough volunteers to stage the event. It was greatly missed by visitors and locals alike, so this year, local magazine editor Sue Hill and Rachel Zeale, Manager from Woolacombe Tourist Information Centre, have taken on the challenge to revive it!
The chosen theme for scarecrows was Roald Dahl books  The scarecrows formed a trail around the pretty village of Mortehoe for participants to identify – trail sheets were available from outside Mortehoe Museum each day, where the trail started and ended
Money raised from the Festival will go towards local organisations, including St Mary’s Church in Mortehoe and Mortehoe Museum.
